Going AWOL

Why have you been AWOL i here you say? Well the only real answer to this question is uni work. Over the last term, i took on a Live Project at uni which is to organise Graduate Fashion Week for AUB. Lets just say its been a whirlwind of emotions and has taken up more of my personal time than once first thought. If you happen to be interested in what I’ve been up to, Click Here to view my uni blog which has all you need to know about what i have been doing (p.s. you don’t have to read it). Now that my life has calmed down a tad, I will be back to blogging as normal. I really hate it when uni life takes over.

To make this post a little more alluring, I’ve added a collection of moments from the past month.

Day 2 Night – White Grid Dress

Untitled-1

Dress – Missguided (similar) | Cardigan – Zara | Boots – Office (old) | Heels  – Newlook     |Bag – H&M (old)

Sometimes our lives get a little busy and you have to go out straight from work or uni, so i thought id begin doing a Day 2 Night posts on my blog to help those of you who really do have busy lives.

This dress i bought from Missguided a while ago and never really wear it. Its a very versatile piece all types of occasions. This dress is actually a shift style dress but because I’m tiny I have to sinch it with a belt otherwise i look like a sack.

Misguided don’t actually do this dress anymore but i have linked to one which is very similar and would work perfectly.

Day – To dress down the dress, I’ve added a black thin cardigan. You could equally wear a jacket if its a little nippy. I’ve finished the look off with a pair of black ankle boots. Again if its cold, chuck on a pair of tights but hopefully the weather will stay warm and they’ll be no need.

Night – To give a night out look, I firstly took off the cardigan and switched the boots for these beaut scrappy platform heels. I wish i could wear shoes like this all the time but the truth is, My feet aren’t ready for commitment like that just yet. Because of the pattern on the dress, You can keep the accessories very simple. If you have colour in your wardrobe, A pair of bright heels would look amazing and add a pop of colour to the outfit. I also added my simple black clutch bag, again a bright colour would equally as well.

A Hint Of Beige

Top – Primark | Jacket – Forver 21 | Jeans – Topshop | Boots – Zara |Sunglasses – Quay at Asos | Bag – eBay | Watch – Casio

We have been graced with beautiful weather recently and I’m loving it. Not having to wear a massive coat to keep warm is one of THE best things. Coats always slightly ruin an outfit I think. Haven’t yet escaped wearing black all the time but adding, Id like to say colour but beige isn’t really that colourful, a few key pieces that match give a more put together look. Not to mention adding a little excitement to an outfit. I’m in LOVE with this top from Primark. As weird as it may sound, i love showing off my collar bone. I think its quite sexy in way. I believe it was around £10 but don’t quote me on that. Bargain in my opinion. The key piece of the outfit, is this jacket/kimono thing. It has a trench coat look to it but its very light and perfect for this time of year. Im hoping to get lots of wear out of it as it will go with the majority of my wardrobe, mainly because everything is black. I need help. Forever 21 have some really cool pieces at the moment and for the best price, definitely check them out.

I’ve wanted to add a bit of excitement to my blog for a while and i finally had the idea to do weekly round ups. Showing you the moments i’ve captured that week. Sometimes my life isn’t that exciting and i end up spending the whole week in bed so these won’t be every week.

I’ve recently been on my easter holidays which was such a nice break away from uni life. It was so nice to be cooked for and not having to do everything by yourself.   Im not going to describe each and every moment but I’m going to attempt to list them in an interesting readable way?

My cousins baby shower | My cousins Chihuahua Timmy Jack | My cat Humbug | My sister and her sausage roll boobs |Quote which i thought was very me | Belated birthday cake my mum made (it was soo good) | Dessert i had at Pizza Express | Sister selfie | the usual bedroom mirror selfie | Another mirror selfie | Me being a goon | Another sister selfie | My dog

Joggers

DSC_0219DSC_0274DSC_0212DSC_0246DSC_0260

Everything – Topshop

Im not one for wearing joggers out of the house, mainly because i live in them when I’m in the house and they’re just not in the right state for people to see. This pair is actually new, my sister kindly bought them for me as a birthday present and thought i’d get an outfit out of them before they’ve been worn to death. Believe me they will be. As I’m most likely not going to wear them outside the premises of my house, i thought id show you how i’d style them if i was to.

I decided to dress them up with this beaut lace bralette crop top which i’ve been struggling to style for ages. I attempted to wear it with my Joni jeans and i ended up having this really un attractive podge just sitting between my top and jeans, i just wasn’t feeling it. Anyways, i think this top works perfectly with a pair of trousers which sit nicely on the body, just like these joggers.

I finished the look with these heeled boots which instantly give a more put together, dressed up look.

If you have the guts to wear joggers out the house, do because they’re the most comfortable things in the whole entire world and i so badly wish i could wear them at all times. Being a fashion student, i just don’t think i could wear them in a serious situation like going to uni but you go girl if you do!

Black on Black

DSC_0012DSC_0036DSC_0038DSC_0015Top, Jeans & Coat – Topshop | Bag – ebay | Boots – Vagabond | Lipstick – Pillow Talk by Topshop

Believe it or not, even though i feel like i don’t wear a lot of colour, i don’t actually own many black tops. I recently bought this one as i love the long top with jeans look and this top does that look perfectly. Its a beautiful sheer cowl neck top with slits up the sides. I know you can see the label in one of the photos but i hadn’t actually worn this top out when i took these photos. It was also the only nice photo of the back of the top. Its one of those tops thats both casual and smart and can be easily dressed up or down. For this look, I’ve dressed it down with a pair of distressed ripped jeans. Although i still would wear this in the evening with maybe a darker lipstick.

I teamed the look with these chunky heeled boots which are my life. And sadly going to have to stop wearing them soon due to the beaut weather. I don’t know what I’m talking about, thats such a lie, I’ll probably still wear them for the next few months. My bag and watch are the same as always as I’m not one for changing my bag much.

Obviously to keep warm, i finished the look with my fave coat which happens to also be from Topshop, I think i have a problem. This coat has got to be one of the best buys ever and goes with pretty much everything in my wardrobe.

Made The Chop

IMG_0509

Mid Length hair has been floating around social media and the internet for a while now and so many long hair beauts have made the chop. For about 4 years, I refused to chop even an inch of the end of my long locks BUT at the beginning of December I took the plunge and finally cut my dead scraggly ends off. I couldn’t be more happier with the end result and do not regret it one bit. The amount of people that were concerned i would regret it was ridiculous but I feel so much more grown up and literally feels like a weight of my shoulders.

If you’re debating going for the chop, i definitely recommend you do because at the end of the day it will eventually grow back!
